Earth Day Clean Up
Volunteers will gather to celebrate Earth Day outdoors and do some spring cleaning at the Strong Family Farm on Saturday, April 20 (rain date April 21) from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Both in the barn and outdoor projects are planned. Doing our part for Mother Earth, some projects will be picking up trash, planting trees, raking leaves for compost, sweeping and sprucing up the farm among other projects waiting to be done in order to get the farm ready for all the wonderful activities planned this season for the farm! (http://www.strongfamilyfarm.org). Dress appropriately and bring your favorite work gloves and rake, along with some yummy food to share for lunch. For 11 years, the Chicken Run has been a way to start the farm season and welcome the new baby chicks to the farm and to support the Strong Family Farm, Vernon’s nonprofit community farm located in the center of Vernon, CT.

The Strong family along with a large number of community members are committed to seeing that the beloved 7 generation Strong family farm is preserved in order to provide an agricultural education center where everyone can experience an authentic family farm environment. This doesn’t come cheap. Our yearly Chicken Run is our biggest and most successful fundraiser – thanks to all our sponsors and participants! Won’t you join them?
